A few days ago, my Audi A7 was stopped in a typical highway backup during rush hour when I looked in the mirror and saw a car coming toward us not stopping. I was able to say “he’s going to hit us” before impact. The PT Cruiser hit us going ~ 50 mph. My wife was in the passenger seat, our 4 year old son was behind me, and we had another empty Chicco car seat behind my wife that my 1 year old son uses. I was immediately thinking of my 4 year old as the wreck was happening in slow motion. The paramedics arrived and took him in the ambulance with my wife. Fortunately, his car seat saved him from very serious injury, and my wife & I only had minor neck injuries. The empty rear facing model held up as well. I always read reviews and safety ratings, but I never thought I’d be in that situation. It really can happen, and you want a car seat like this if it happens to you. I’m on here buying a new one to replace the wrecked one, and that means something.
