Now Assembling my 3rd Patio Bistro Over a 10 Year Span
This is a 2020 update as, I'm finally back home and assembling my 3rd Char-Broil Patio Bistro. As indicated below, I purchased my 2nd Patio Bistro during 2014 and used it several years before basically starting a work travel regiment that lasted several years. During 2017, I managed to snag another one of these great grills at a bargain price, which I put back for the time the travel ended. Well here we are and I'll be assembling the new grill tomorrow during June 2020. Just in looking around, it looks like Char-Broil has discontinued this model which is a shame, since we got good service out of the first 2. Our first 2 Patio Bistros both had problems with peeling paint on the inside of the lid and eventual rust on the infrared grill insert. The piezo igniter did fail on grill number 2, so will cross our fingers for number 3! It really is a shame Char-Broil discontinued this model. Happy Grilling during 2020 !

Like others it did take me more time than I thought it should have to assemble this grill, but overall I like it.
PROS
Small footprint, it works nicely on my porch
Even, high heat cooking that thus far has resulted in GREAT tasting chicken, pork and steaks
Easy to ignite
Easy to keep clean
CONS
I'm pretty handy, but it took me nearly 1.5 hours to assemble this grill
The paint ... Come on CharBroil .. How about using some real high temperature paint? Mine has started to slightly bubble up on the surface of the lid after using the grill a scant 4 times
UPDATE: 6 months later
Grill is still going strong. Really great for cooking steaks, hamburgers & dark meat chicken. Great taste for those meats without charcoal. Much harder to cook chicken breast in this grill and have it come out moist due to the relatively high temps generated by this grill.
UPDATE: 11 months after purchase
Paint on the grill's lid interior has now begun to peel off in large pieces. Other than that, this Charbroil still works great. The grill itself does take some work to clean each time I use it. Grill has also developed a light patina of rust that has to be wire brushed before each use. Product would last longer if it were all stainless. The high heat generated by this grill kills the paint. Hoping to get at least 2 years out of this grill ... We'll see.
UPDATE: 30 months after purchase
PROS: One of the best grills I've ever owned in terms of ease of use and taste of food; nuff said. I'm ordering another tonight. Highly recommend this grill.
CONS: Paint continued to peel off; used a motorized blower to clear it from time to time. The grill is now at the point where it should be replaced due to much of the metal in the gooves simply falling into the fire over time. This grill is more like a standard ribbed grill than an infrared grill at this point. Also Piezo ignition failed within the last 30 days. New battery didn't solve the problem. Copied this review from my previous review of the same product on Amazon. First time ever, Amazon changed the name of a product and dropped the previous reviews. VERY SURPRISED. Anyway, I've kept up with a long term review for the 1st time.
