Might I suggest not punishing yourself, Amazon, or Apple on account of others’ ignorance? I’m really glad that I ignored the plethora of misleading reviews and purchased this product. The cable, its packaging, and its performance are identical to the one I purchased directly from the Apple Store. My iPhone X fast charged from 0% to 49% in 30 minutes when I paired this with an Anker 60W USB Type C PD Charger. Also, contrary to the photos posted by another reviewer, this genuine product (as well as the one I purchased directly from the Apple Store) has silver-colored contacts and performs exactly as promised. Finally, this cable provides the expected fast charge without producing the elusive “double ding” referenced here and elsewhere.
