I have had the Bissell 1984 Air Ram Vacuum for approximately 72 hours now and do not know how I ever got along without it. My "kids" are two beautiful long haired dogs that have 24/7 in and out via dog doors. I have hardwood floors with hand cut wool rugs. Getting out my Shark vacuum or broom or dust mop out every time I needed to get dog hair or debris up was a pain. Enter the Bissell 1984 Air Ram, it is fantastic and I am thrilled beyond words. This cordless vacuum is so powerful it actually pulls itself across my hard floors and sucks the dog hair to it. Also, the book says it might pull throw rugs up; well, my "throw rugs" are large heavy hand cut wool rugs and I have to be careful on the edges or it sucks them up, and they do not have fringe, I'm talking about my rugs! So you can imagine how well it gets all the dirt and dog hair out of my rugs. Amazing. And the LED lights on the front, you will see things you didn't know we're there! I can clean the master bedroom and bath, dining room, living room and brick paver kitchen 3 - 4 times on one battery charge. If I go under all the furniture (the lights point out all the things there) then it is 3 times on a charge. I put it together by myself with no tools in about 5 minutes, it took me longer to get it out of the boxes. I don't know how I got along without the Air Ram and know my house is cleaner. Emptying the dirt bin is so easy. Everything about the Air Ram is easy and fantastic, I love it. I bought this to replace my broom and dust pan, but now I'm thinking it may replace my 2 Shark vacuums because it is just too easy to use, empty, clean and store. I am one happy customer! ************ 2 weeks later - I am still loving this vacuum BUT very upset with Bissell. The washable filter is foam with a felt lining. I use my Air Ram every day and need to wash the filter at least once a week. PROBLEM - it takes 2 - 3 days for the filter to dry depending on how long you want to spend with paper towels absorbing the water and your hair dryer on high and hot. It would be a very simple solution IF Bissell had filters so you could get an extra one, but they don't. I have called and written Bissell and no results, they just tell me that part is not available. I guess they want you to buy TWO vacuums so you have a clean filter which of course is ridiculous. Running the vacuum with a dirty filter not only shortens the life of the vacuum, it also makes your house stink like the inside of a dirty vacuum bag. Get with it Bissell, one inexpensive part would make this the best cordless vacuum. It should come with 2 foam filters!
