Bright spot light at 100ft, lights up objects 400ft away!
I like to keep track of my dog while he's wandering the yard after dark. I have tried numerous flashlights to help keep him in sight. Previous LED flashlights would be very bright, and light up a wide circle, but only for about 10-15 feet away, which was OK if I kept up with my dog (a nearly impossible task). I did find an incandescent flashlight with an adjustable beam that let me see him up to about 30 feet away, but I still had to follow him around. This is the first hi-lumen adjustable LED flashlight that I have tried, and I am VERY IMPRESSED with it! This flashlight, allows me to stand at the back door of the house and see my dog when he is against the back wall of the yard. The back wall is 104.88ft from the back door (laser measured)! On the other side of that back wall is a park that has a clock tower in it. At night, the city lights glowing behind it let me make out the outline of the tower, but I cannot see the clock. This flashlight lets me see the face of the clock from about 400ft away (again, laser measured)! I have included pictures taken in the middle of the night. The first shows the yard with no light, the second, with this light on widest beam, the third on narrower beam, and the fourth fully zoomed. The wall that the light is shining on is 97.50ft away from the camera and flashlight! The 5th picture shows the side wall of the yard (with the park's clock tower in the background) and the flashlight on wide beam. The 6th picture shows the clock tower (zoomed in) with no light, and the last picture shows the clock tower illuminated by this flashlight from 397.68ft away!!! No flash on the camera or any other light source, just this flashlight!!! Even though the camera wasn't focused, you can still tell the picture was taken at 12:33am! This flashlight comes with an adapter to use three AAA batteries. I put in three Duracell rechargeable batteries (freshly charged), and it was just as bright as using the recommended BRC18650 batteries --- for about 45 minutes, then it got dim very quickly. Within an hour the AAA batteries were fully discharged. Then I put in a freshly charged BRC18650, and have used (been playing with) the flashlight for a total of about three hours (so far) and it seems just as bright as when I first put it in. If you need a very bright light that you can adjust for a wide beam and/or a good distance, I would highly recommend this product.
