I didn't think there was any non-prescription ANYTHING that could help calm my hyper and out-of-control 10 lb. Maltese/Yorkie Mix be calmer, but I was wrong! Within in a hour of giving my dog ONE of these chews I could already see that he was calmer and not literally bouncing off the walls as he usually is. He wasn't constantly jumping on me for attention and he wasn't barking at everything including the wind. Within two hours of eating the chew (which he seemed to enjoy) he was laying calmly watching what was going on around the house instead of having to be the center of attention every day. It has been such a nice change the last three days and it's been a blessing. It was getting to the point with Teddy's behavior that I just wasn't enjoying being with him anymore. He still chases the cat, but now he's playing instead of being mean. He still loves riding in the car with me, but now he's not pacing all over the place (including on me while I'm trying to drive). I've noticed that at about the 10-hour mark, the chew is starting to wear off and the "old" Teddy is slowly re-emerging, but fortunately at about then, it's bedtime. The real test will come this Sunday on Easter when I have to leave him at home alone while our extended family goes to church and then to a big brunch. Normally, I come home to multiple accidents everywhere due to his severe separation anxiety. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that these chews will help with this issue as well. I just can't believe how quickly these chews started to work! I was at the point of asking our vet for a small dose of medication to calm our little guy down. I really didn't want to go the prescription medication route except as an absolute last resort, so when I found these and then found out that they actually WORK I was delighted. The fact that they began working with an hour absolutely shocked me. I was skeptical that they would work at all, so I can honestly say that I couldn't be happier with my purchase! I'm so, so happy to have my calm little companion back. (:
