Too Grateful to be Angry
I confess. I am one of THOSE people who leave reviews pretty much only when they're dissatisfied. I have a autoimmune issues secondary to my service in the Gulf War. The most debilitating, fibromyalgia, often leaves me cranky, in pain, and not much fun to be around. Or did, anyway. I went dancing last night, Seriously. Dancing. I've had this thing for a little over a week. My opioid use is down by 2/3. Today it is overcast and rainy here in the high desert. That would usually leave me in bed with my pain meds and Netflix. I mean, ahem, Amazon Prime. About a year ago, my ex-boyfriend was speaking to a pharmacist who suffered chronic pain. She told him about how sleeping with a grounding round outside her bedroom window attached to a static wrist strap had changed her life. My pain issues caused me to leave my 18 year career as a Line tech for a major telecom provider 5 years ago. I've driven hundreds of grounding rods in my life and knew there was no way I could possibly swing a sledge hammer into the New Mexico rocky soil now. My boyfriend promised to do it. We broke up last month. (Did I mention I'm not much fun to be round?) While wallowing in my depression of yet another relationship lost to my vet issues, (and , of course, all of his unfulfilled promises). I binge watched self help documentaries including "Earthing". Turns out that 'earthing', (insert former electronic tech's derisive eyeroll here), is just grounding. It has completely changed my health. I felt a major difference after the first night. I want to be angry at my ex for not driving that grounding rod a year ago as promised, but I'm just too frikken grateful for the difference this $75 piece of neoprene and wire has made in my life.
