Wasn't expecting to like this headset so much
So I had a Motorola S9-HD Rokr running headset for years and last week, it fell out of my gym bag in the locker room and vanished. After spending a day or two checking with the front desk staff at the gym, I decided to buy a replacement but to my dismay, the S9-HD is no longer manufactured. The replacement Motorola headsets all had mixed reviews so I was hesitant to plunk down money for something I wouldn't be totally happy with (I'm picky about my workout gear). Eventually I settled on this headset. Sure, it was a little more expensive but the reviews were fantastic so I figured "what the hell" and pulled the trigger. Unsurprisingly, as soon as I bought the new headset, the gym found my old one the following day. Seeing as it was too late to cancel the order, I figured I'd just eat the restocking fee and return the Plantronics headset once it arrived. The box showed up and I opened it and figured, "well, might as well check it out before I return it"... I won't be returning it. -It fits perfectly and is much lighter than the old headset I was using -It power on easily and a disembodied voice cheerfully tells you your battery level and announces when it pairs with my phone. -The sound is rich, deep and amazing. Night and day compared to my old headset. I actually can't play this thing at full volume or it hurts my ears. -Battery life is about the same. It lasts through about 3 two hour workouts before it needs to be charged again. Whoever said it lasts a week was wrong. -The controls take a little getting used to (tiny, tiny buttons) but once you figure out how everything works, it's fine. Tip for those of you who buy one of these things: Tapping the volume button raises the volume while holding it down lowers it. Took me forever to figure that out. -Stores easily and seems pretty sturdy. If you're in the market for a workout/running headset, you can't go wrong with this thing. Anyone want to buy a slightly used Motorola S9-HD?
