Finally
I have for several years now searched for a decent pair of jeans, which would fit both my legs and waist. I apparently have fairly thick thighs, however I would consider myself to have merely average proportions for a man who frequently lifts weights. I contemplate the difficulty I have finding jeans (and pants in general) and I have no earthly idea how those with seriously developed legs find jeans anywhere! I have owned and worn exactly one pair of jeans for the last two years (and which I have owned for several years longer), an old pair of Wranglers that must have been cut just before the wave of metrosexual fashion consumed us all. This pair of "athletic" (and I don't know what athletic is supposed to mean, for a runner and an olympic weightlifter can both be considered athletes, while each having significantly different builds/proportions) fit jeans is nothing short of a miracle for me. And at $46 or so, an amazing deal. I had nearly convinced myself I would have to go get custom $200+ jeans, just so that I could comfortably wear denim. Now these aren't perfect.. and I caution the potential buyer that the five colors available are not equal to one another in terms of fit. If you check Levi's website, you will see that two are made with 98% cotton and 2% elastane, while the other three are 99% and 1% respectively. I tried each of the two compositions and several of the colors and I will tell you that there is a very noticeable difference not only between the compositions, but also the colors. The "Midnight" is much stretchier and softer than the "Rigid Dragon" (an appropriate name) in the same size. 10 years ago I would have given these a 3.5 or 4 out of 5 stars, but today, when nearly all jeans feature a low rise (because everyone has a pancake ***, right?) and a leg barely large enough for an adolescent girl, these 541's receive a SOLID 5 stars, simply because I can wear them comfortably. Not only do these fit comfortably in the thighs and moderately so in the waist (I could afford to have the waist brought in an inch or so), but they look good too! A nice taper begins just below the knees to meet a fashionably narrow leg opening (not too narrow, but perfect for my taste). So, if you both enjoy squats, dead lifts, cleans, etc., AND possess a bit of sartorial elegance, you have finally found a pair of jeans to fit the bill.
