I'm a believer in this concept and love the the ability to access the item from my phone. My two year old hit a fast and furious sleep regression. He started waking at night and very early in the morning and would try everything to convince us to let him get up. The first night i used the "ok-to-wake" feature it worked! We talked about it before bed. I let him choose the color that meant "sleep" (he chose red.) He woke once in the night and i reminded him that he had to sleep until the green light came on (as he wasn't able to quantify what "wait until morning" means). At 7am on the nose he stood up and declared "morning!" (Got a sticker for his sticker chart as a reward). You could certainly achieve this with a $2 nightlight on a timer, but i like that you are able to customize a "program" and keep the message consistent even when the schedule can't be. For example, my son has to wake up extra early 2 days/week to go to my mom's. I am able to schedule a different wake time for those days to keep the message of seeing the green light when it's time to wake. Great for naptime too. If you have to cut one short, or if kiddo is not falling asleep and you're ready to give in, you can change the light before you go in, so that once again, you can keep the message consistent. I also like that i can turn the "red" light on before we go into his room so that he immediately knows its time to rest when we enter his room. Lastly, I already have a sound machine so I wasn't planning on using that part of it, however my son started waking when my husband was walking down the stairs when he left for work, so i turned on additional white noise before he left in the morning to help drown out more noise, as his sound machine is on the opposite side of the room so now he is surrounded by white noise. I'm sure this won't solve all sleep problems permanently but so far so good. Worth the $$!
