Great WiFi bulbs at a a great price. Just need to be meticulous when setting up.
Just got my 4 pack from Amazon (Actually $1 cheaper if you have Prime and consider shipping cost when ordered direct from Wyze) I was able to get all 4 to connect without trouble. I did my research first though by reading comments here and on Amazon. Here’s what I did:
- Put the bulb in the socket and make sure the switch is off (if your light location is far away from your router, move it temporarily closer or put the bulb in another socket for the set up)
- Put my phone on 2.4ghz WiFi network.
- Open Wyze app and click the ... then Add product then Wyze bulb. (I did one bulb at a time to completion)
- Put the bulb in pairing mode (Switch the light on, off, on, off and on again. The color temperature should start off warm the third time and it will pulsate.)
- Follow the steps on the app to put your phones wifi on the bulbs network (To get my phone to see the network, I just toggled WiFi off and on and it showed up after that)
- Continue to follow the steps from the app to finish setup ( Name the bulb, set a color temperature, brightness level & schedule if desired)
- Redo the process for each bulb
- After all bulbs are connected, I created a group to control them together
- Then I opened my Alexa app and made sure the Wyze skill was enabled.
- I then ran device discovery and checked the bulbs were added and labeled as lights
- Lastly I added the bulbs to their respective groups in Alexa and made sure voice control was working.
I’ll update my comment after a while of use but everything works as advertised so far.
