One of the best Sonic games, ON YOUR PHONE!
In my opinion, this is one of the best Sonic games ever made, or at least underrated since it was released on the Sega CD. The game sticks to the original formula, but freshens things up with the time travel mechanic, allowing you to go to different versions of the level you're on, like past, present, good future, or bad future. The game also features a new move called a Super Peel-Out, but while this is faster than the Spin Dash, I don't recommend using it as it leaves you vulnerable to damage.
One of the best things about this game is the music, which, thanks to the fact the Sega CD version used CD's, was great sounding for a game in the 90s. It even has both the American and Japanese versions of the soundtrack. I recommend the Japanese version, not only because it's slightly better in my opinion, but the American soundtrack can be a bit darker, specifically with two tracks. The US boss music does sound a bit more threatening, more threatening than what the fights are anyway, but if you heard the US Game Over track, your skin will crawl. In fact, it was used in a fan made horror game. Your preferences may vary. (Heck, maybe you like a Sonic game to haunt your dreams at night. Who knows? Lol!) However, both soundtracks are great, and they sure do show the advantages of CDs over cartridges back in the day.
So what are you waiting for? If you got an Android or Kindle, you got no excuse not to try it at least. The game is free via Underground, and for what you get, you get a dang good game.
