I learnt to sew at the age of 5 and sewed in the Apparel sewing business for over 25 years. I sewed on every machine out there. Ten years ago I started my own small dog clothes business. Three years ago I decided to invest in a new machine, after reviewing Berninas and how they were Swiss made, decided to invest over a thousand dollars into one! Much to my disappointment the machine did not live up to the reviews I read! Yes the Bernina can sew most everything, but what they fail to tell you, you must buy a presser foot for all different fabrics and the feet are NOT cheap. Later found out my machine was NOT Swiss made but made in China, which Bernina fails to tell you! After years of cursing with the Bernina, I decided to try this machine! From the time I turned it on was so impressed!! The ease of threading (both bobbin and needle) The feeding of the fabric is just amazing! I sewed through cotton, satin stretch knit and Leather with no adjustment of anything! Goes from thin fabric to thick with not problems, It actually sewed 3/4 inch of fabric swatch with no problems! It also has a clear bobbin covering so you don't need to run out of bobbin thread any more with just inches to sew! At the price I paid for this machine could of bought 4 for the price I paid for the Bernina! This machine is great for the beginner, with 3 speed settings or the advanced sewer! If you are looking for a good basic quality, friendly machine this is the machine to invest in!!!
