I bought 2 bags for my 25 gallon tank which was a good amount. This was an established fish tank before I put this new gravel in. I changed the gravel completely to this new stuff in one day. My water was cloudy for a few hours and non of my fish died. I did keep as much of my original water as I could. I heard that this gravel was "stinky" but I didn't smell anything at all and the way these were packaged was amazing.
