An In-Depth, Honest, and Unpaid Review. *UPDATED*
I was looking for a sound bar and sub woofie that would produce rich, quality sound without wires every where. I have been a practicing musician for a little over 10 years now and have developed a somewhat decent ear for sound. I am constantly listening to music when I am at home, and I also am an avid video-gamer and TV watcher. Besides a Bose Mini Link II, I usually just use my TV speakers for said activities. I was intrigued by this product for its small size, and its boasted S-Force PRO Front Surround sound. The following are my findings if you wish to follow along and find things out. Lets get some. Comes with: - Sound Bar - Sub Woofa - Power cord for sound bar - Optical cable, (sound bar does have an analog in jack) - 4 self-adhesive pads to put on side of sub in case of laying unit on floor - Remote Control with 2 AAA batts - Quick Start guide and owner's manual. ACTUAL DIMENSIONS (in US standard): -Sound Bar------19 5/8" long, 4 1/8" wide, 2 3/32" tall -Sub Woofar (standing up as shown in product photo)----------14 5/8" long, 3 11/16" wide, 14 15/16" tall -Remote-------6 1/4" long, 1 1/4" wide, 11/16" tall -Sound Bar Power Cord length----------Aprx. 80" -Sub Woofen Power Cord length-----------69 1/2" -Optical Cord length--------------59" -Sub Woofie weight----------A raccoon holding a gallon of milk; the things heavy. PROS: Setting it up was very easy to do, and the sub woofo instantly pairs with the sound bar. I am using a Sony Bravia TV. The quick-start guide and user manual are clear and non convoluted. The remote functions well, and I have perceived ZERO lag between movies, video games, tv, and bluetooth to my phone. It has a number of audio settings: -A "Night" mode that will keep the sound fidelity and voice quality while at low volumes -Different settings for 'Movie,' 'Music,' and 'Clear Audio,' which optimizes sound for the specific content being played. Think Auto-Adjust. There ya go. -A "Voice" setting that enhances dialogue for movies and such; this does seem to enhance people's voices that I've tested. (movies and games). -There is also a DRC (Dynamic Range Control) setting that compresses the audio to make it easy to hear at lower volumes. -You can place the sub wuuben anywhere, and it has a "Sofa" mode, which lets you place it under a couch, out of the way, and still have optimized bass levels. I don't own a sofa, but placed it under my bed and tried the sub with Sofa mode on and off. I believe it just projects the bass differently, I'm not sure, not a huge change. -Bluetooth capability and USB support. (I have not yet tried it with Alexa or any other similar smart device, but I will update when I do!) The volume seems robust, and the "surround" effect does seem present with the volume up enough, but nothing will resemble true surround sound like......um....a surround sound system, with satellite speakers and all that jive. The sub woofa is adequate, though there are louder, deeper subs out there. However it does pair nicely with the sound coming from the bar; if turned up all the way, some things will be quite rumbly and you'll want to turn it down. Different light sequences that indicate different settings; not too bad to figure out. I want to stress that the sound is clean and a big step-up from your TV speakers. The overall sound quality is similar to that of the Bose Wave Stero thing; its very good. CONS: -There is no indicator for what level the sound bar/ sub woofie are currently at. It will tell you if it hits max by way of different lights blinking. -The sub wuufer could be a little stronger, but it does the job. In summation, I am pleased with my purchase. I feel this product is well made and does produce great sound. If you want true cinema surround, spend more and look elsewhere. If you want a good speaker combo that will work for most of your needs if not all, get this one. You'll enjoy it. Please see all attached pictures (banana for scale). I apologize for the quality. I did my best to show from opening the shipping container all the way to what it looks like the way I'm currently using the system. The product box was damaged, but items were fine. I'm sure just a warehouse mishap. I can only post one video, so I chose some Bowie, where I also switch from 'movie' to 'music' mode to hopefully show difference. KEEP IN MIND, I also have my PC volume at 60%, the sub woolfenhooser volume at 5 clicks from the max, and the actual sound bars volume 10 clicks from the max; this thing can get very loud and still keep its quality. If you would like to request anything else like a videogame or certain movie (which do sound great through this system), I would be glad to provide a short recording to the best of my ability. I will update this review after one month of use. Please feel free to ask me any questions. I hope this helps y'all. UPDATE: The sound is still strong as from the start. This thing certainly has held up, even with constant use. An honest and unpaid review, -shaolin
