Wireless Done Right
Now the beats solo 2 wireless introduces a new mechanic to the solo line which is wireless functionality. Is it done well or not so well? Wells let's find out with my review of the beat solo 2 wireless _______ Design: The solo 2 wireless emits a sleek look with black and red accents. The headband is made of glossy black plastic and though it looks good in the beginning, it attracts a lot of fingerprints after getting handsy with them. I suggest to keep a cleaning cloth handy. The wireless does have air vents on the drivers of the headphones to allow the battery to remain cool so it looks just bit different from the non wireless version but it does not make it look better or worse. The hinges are a lot more sturdier than previous iterations of the solos which I really like because it just shows that the company is listening to its customers. Underneath the driver which houses the battery are 5 white LED lights which show the battery status of the headphones which add a very nice look to it. It reminds me a lot of the blinking notification pulse light on the nexus 5 but with 4 lights and I find it to look really cool while at the same time displaying how much battery you have left on your headphones _________ Functionality: Beats of course made these headphone bluetooth wireless compatible but they have also included a 3.5mm headphone jack just in case you run out of battery. You can just stick the cord in, and go on with the rest of your day. The Bluetooth works great. I found no noticeable differences between the sound quality when wired and when using it wirelessly. This is something that I love because I won't have to sacrifice sound quality when going wireless with the device. The headphones also has great wireless range. I can leave my phone at my desk and walk around the house without having to go back to get my phone because I had lost signal. The headphones work with android and apple devices so don't worry if you have one or the other because it works for both without any problems. There are pause, play, volume, and skip gestures integrated into the outer layer of the drivers of the headphones and they work well as well. I have not encountered any problems with functionality and sometimes, it even surpassed my expectations. ___________ Conclusion: If you are wireless pair of beats solos and have an extra hundred bucks to dish out then go ahead and get these headphones. I have to say that if you are considering beats headphones for the first time, let me just say that the sound quality of these guys are good but they are bass heavy. If you are a fan of hip hop and other bass heavy genres, then you might enjoy these pair of headphones but they do mumble the mids and highs in most music. I also want to point out that beats products are very expensive and there are many other quality alternatives to these headphones. Please consider whether these headphones are ideal for you, not because everyone else is getting them. For me, getting a pair of headphones is like getting a custom tailored suit. You need to find the one that best fits you.
