I just got this, filled it up and turned it on. First I want to address some of the negative reviews because some people are so aggressively stupid it gives me a headache. 1- "If seal is broken this is UNSELLABLE." Not unusable or unreturnable. You can get a refund or replacement product from Amy. I included a picture nof her contact info. 2- Amazon ships these units so if you didn't get a box or user manual or the mist spout is missing; that's on Amazon not the seller. 3- This product has a *LIFETIME* warranty. All you have to do is contact the seller & she'll replace it. I included a picture of the card that came with my unit so you can see her contact info if you have questions. Now to my review. My unit is totally quiet. I have a Vicks humidifier I inherited from my Grandma & it's louder than this. I don't even hear this running & there's not gurgling or burbling sound from the tank. I bought this unit because the Vicks is on its last legs. In the middle of the night it'll suddenly get very loud or turn off and I wake up with a dry mouth & packed sinuses. My Grandma ran it night and day, occasionally ran it dry (it doesn't have auto shut-off). Why not get another Vicks? Because I wanted to try something different. The price of this unit is super reasonable, I *LOVE* the lifetime warranty and most importantly Amy is a real person not a faceless company. I'll update my review with how long the tank lasts and if I have any trouble with the unit. Thanks! Update: I ran the machine on high for about 8 hours. It didn't empty, but I went to bed and refilled it. I'd say it'll run for 10 hours on high. The light isn't bright enough to bother me, but I know it bothers some people. The standby light on my TV is *way* brighter.
