This pump has plenty of power attached to a sand filter for my 13,000 gallon above ground pool.Only problem is it has no on-off switch and you have to plug and unplug it to turn it on and off. The top comes off easily for cleaning the filter basket. Was simple to install to my filtering system. Durability - I run it nearly every other day for 3-4 hours and no problems so far- 4 months. July 23,2011 - It is now 1 year later and my pump is still running strong. I would definitely recommend this pump. August 18,2012 - It's now 2 years later, still goin'! July 17, 2013 - It's now 3 years later, still goin' strong.
