Waterproofing: What you need to know!
The light is great, super bright and a great price. I love having it. So here's the deal with this, you need to know what your buying, which I haven't yet seen explained in all the "complaint" comments. Yes this light bar states it's waterproof but they do also tell you upfront that it's IP-67 rated. After having an issue with condensation in my light after 1 rainy day I contacted the seller, did some research and learned some things. 1. The seller is great and stands behind their warranty. I received a response from the seller within hours of contacting them. Sent the pictures requested and they promptly sent me a new light with return shipping for the old one. Awesome :) 2. IP-67 is rated to be waterproof at 3 feet for 30 minutes. What does this mean if you put it on your vehicle? It means you need to understand what that rating means to you in the real world. I didn't but here's what I learned. 3 feet of water has about 16psi of force. Thus this light should not leak exposed to water at that pressure or less. If it's on the front of your truck in a rain storm and your driving 60 MPH do you honestly think that the rain blasting the light is going to be less that 16psi? And now you see where the potential problems lie. Now having learned this I've added extra sealant around the replacement light to reinforce the existing seals against water pressure. I hope this helps others prevent water issues with their lights.
