I ordered a different brand oven when I retired my first Breville toaster oven and I loved the replacement. It went well with my copper kitchen (but the Breville oven doesn't; wish it was copper). However, that other brand oven broke after two months, so I decided to go back to the Breville which had worked so well for me for 8 years. It was still working fine when I retired it, but was starting to look a bit worn out. I like how easy it is to do the settings on the Breville oven. It toasts a bit unevenly but that doesn't affect the taste of the toast. I use a dark setting and crust tends to get over-done while the bread itself is less brown than I'd like. But that's entirely cosmetic. If I were blindfolded, I would think it's the ideal outcome. The manufacturer of the other oven (different brand) is replacing the one that failed and I will keep it stored in case the Breville breaks down (though I doubt it will).
