I bought this unit to replace a dead gas-powered trimmer. It runs very well, as long as one remembers a couple of admonitions. 1. It's not made for clear-cutting swamps and underbrush. It's for home lawn and landscaping service. The motor is rated at about 1/2 horsepower. It's not designed for use by lumberjacks. 2. Never set the head down into the middle of the patch to be trimmed. Move it slowly into the target area. And don't force it into the grass or weeds. Let it do its thing and just guide it. Stressing it can easily lead to improper operation or failure. Don't expect miracles. It's 50 bucks. Try pricing the beasts used by the pros.
