LOVE THIS MACHINE!!
Ladies: To Those Wanting At-Home Facial Treatments....🧖🏻‍♀️✨ I’ve been doing my own Microderm and chemical peels for years. After working in the Beauty industry for a number of years, I was taught, as well as picked up, lots of techniques/tips. I don’t advocate for an “unskilled” person to necessarily do their own chemical peels, as it’s so easy to mess up/damage your face. HOWEVER, Microderm is pretty fool-proof (if you can follow directions). I had been using my Old-Faithful, “PMD” Microderm machine for probably 7+ years until it finally finally gave its last dance.... Since then, I’ve been researching like crazy to find another, at-home micro machine that would offer comparable results. 💁🏻‍♀️💁🏻‍♀️I’m SUPER excited to have found this little gem 💎🎉🎉... The suction-power of the “Appolus”is truly impressive. I’m pretty used to these types of treatments, but putting it on the “highest” setting was too much for me... This baby is literally the cost of a single treatment (and 1/3rd the price of my beloved PMD), so it pays for itself in the first use... Key factors 🧖🏻‍♀️🔐: ▪️ wash and DRY you face prior to use. That means wait 10-15+ minutes until your skin no longer feels moist or dewy to the touch. DO NOT PUT ANYTHING ON YOUR SKIN. You will moisturize/tone after... ▪️ KEEP THE SKIN TAUT. This means hold the area you’re working on, *lightly* pulling the opposite direction you’re suctioning. You do NOT want the suction to take hold of your skin to the point it’s pulling it in whatever direction you’re going. This will actually be counterproductive and cause wrinkles, rather than alleviate their appearance. ▪️ On your cheeks: work towards the jawline. In other words, horizontally-not vertically. ▪️HOWEVER, on your forehead (which I find is the hardest area), you want to work vertically, NOT horizontally (even though horizontal is easier to complete on this section). ▪️do not do multiple passes - especially on your first use. Keep track of the areas you’ve passed over by going in straight lines, lightly overlapping prior areas. (Think of it like cutting the grass: have a map of your course and don’t deviate from it). ▪️🙏🏼 Be especially careful of the 👀 *eye area* 👀 🙏🏼 This area is SO delicate and it’s SO easy to pop a blood vessile that will likely take laser treatments to remove (take it from me re: prior aggressive estheticians 😩) Lower the setting and make SURE the skin is especially taut, doing a very light pass, ⚠️NEVER TREATING THE WHOLE EYE AREA!!!⚠️ ☝🏼☝🏼I can’t stress this enough. If you aren’t an esthetician (even if you are), it’s so not worth the risk of possible/probably damage. Only go as high as where your cheek meets the bottom of your eye area (think of your “eye area” as wearing large goggles. If you have a crease towards the bottom of your eye area (as most of us do🤷🏻‍♀️), do not go beyond that line. Leave that for the Pros.... ▪️Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate after!! Use a good replenishing moisturizer. Remember: you just stripped your face of all its dead skin, natural sebum, etc. Hydration is SO vital after!! Give your skin a much needed drink of water.... ▪️I like to alternate between micro and chem peels weekly: microderm on Sunday; light chem peel following Sunday. (This is actually rather aggressive, not the “norm”). 📢 Listen to your skin. If it hurts, lower the setting. 📢 Don’t be overly aggressive: we all want results as quickly as possible, but the possibility of permanent damage is real if you bypass your body’s signals of “trauma”. Pain IS beauty, but not in this instance. You will build up a tolerance over time and will be able to slowly increase the settings to more aggressive as your skin adapts and adjusts.... 🚨🚨PS - MAKE SURE YOU USE SUNSCREEN AFTER! Your skin is especially delicate after treatments and SUPER susceptible to hyperpigmentation, as well as other damage. Use a gentle cleanser (NOTHING that “exfoliates”), a good moisturizer, sunscreen and make SURE - NO POPPING/PICKING ACNE!!! You will 💯% scar if you do!! ☝🏼☝🏼☝🏼☝🏼☝🏼🚨🚨 ANYWAY! If anyone is interested, just thought I’d share.... #NewLove #UnpaidReview #Quarantine2020BeautySecrets #LoveTheSkinYoureIn
