Gives a soft glow without being heavy
I was intrigued by Helen Mirren's ads for this product, and I am a skin care junkie, so I bought it. About me--I'm not as fair as Helen Mirren, and while I am in my early 60s, I do not have ultra dry skin. So many skin products aimed at the "mature woman" are packed with so much oil and heavy emollients and those make me break out and/or get milia. This cream is different. It is sort of "dry", but it is emollient too--not greasy at all. I didn't have trouble applying it, and I was careful not to use too much. It has made my skin feel very soft. It has a pleasant scent that doesn't linger, at least in my opinion. I have to say it does give me a subtle glow with just a hint of pink. When I get *really* close to the bathroom mirror under the light, I can see what look like extremely tiny light-reflecting particles. Those, I think, cause the "glow". It isn't glittery; it's subtle.
I think this should not be used this around the eyes because of the scent; I used an unscented undereye cream.
Do I look like Dame Helen? I wish! But this cream makes my skin very soft without feeling greasy, and it does give me a bit of a glow. After a long gray winter, that's a very nice thing! Time will tell if this is a "holy grail" product, but I like it so far.
