If you want to monitor temperature and humidity... this product is for you. If you want to scavenge minute by minute data and make complex graphs... well... this is for you, too! As newbie beekeepers with two different bees, we were amazed that the old-timers told us that bees generate heat to survive through the winter. They vibrate their bodies and make heat to keep the cluster warm enough to survive until spring. Um.. wow. Starting out, we raised two different colonies of bees... Italians and Carniolans. "Italians produce a lot of honey, but they don't survive the winter.".... "Carnis are slow to produce, but are really tough." So... I'm a pretty nerdy guy and my kids are nerdy, too... We wanted to know the DATA. We found the SensorPush Wireless unit. We bought one and tried it out for about a week. We liked it so much we bought another one. We modified the units a bit... glued screens on the bottom of them with rubber bumpers as spacers. (Bees love to glue shut holes like the one on the bottom of the SensorPush) So far... the two units work very well, and we are very pleased with the results! If you look at the data closely, you'll see that the two colonies behave very differently. This data wouldn't have even been possible without these units.
