I was surprised how quiet the Magic Mill was compared to the old cheap dehydrator i used to use. It looks nice too, and not out of place in the kitchen. I picked this brand because i am trying to eliminate plastic from my life and this Magic Mill had steel shelves. The plastic sheet assessories that come with it does not please me though because Magic Mill does not identify the type of plastic used. Just saying 'food safe' tells me nothing of value. In the future i will probably aqquire some pure silicone trays to replace them. The digital feature enabling me to set the tempurature is a welcome improvement over my old one and the fan in back really does what it says; it creates great airflow.
