As an insurance adjuster, I had to rely on vendors to give me moisture readings in water claims. Now, I have been able to use this meter several times already to determine moisture levels in wood and sheetrock and trace down leaks in homeowners claims. I can see how it would help anyone trying to chase a leak or to see if the moisture had been removed sufficiently to determine the damage was not going to get any better, i.e., buckle in floor was not going to go down any further, no matter how much more dry the engineered wood flooring got. In the attached photo, I'm using it to show my insurance company client that the water issue in the claimant's kitchen has not been fully remediated because the reading is well above 10%.
