Nearly Perfect iPad Pro Keyboard Case!
I debated long and hard over which iPad Pro keyboard case to buy. I purchased the Logitech Create case and returned it because it's was heavy and uncomfortable. I didn't really want the Apple keyboard case because I was looking for something a bit more substantial and with backlit keys and then I found this. I had to wait a few months for the Zagg kiosk at my mall to get one in, but once they did I wasted no time in buying it. All I can say is that I LOVE this case! The feel of my iPad Pro in it is like I have a touch screen Mac. It's not light. It actually weighs about 4 pounds after the case is installed, but it's a comfortable weight and doesn't feel much different than carrying around a Macbook. The keyboard case is in two pieces. There's a back plastic piece that snaps on to the iPad Pro, and then the keyboard which is aluminum. When the back piece is on you can connect the iPad Pro to the keyboard forwards and backwards which gives lots of flexibility in how you use the case. In normal front facing installation you turn the iPad Pro into a laptop. The keyboard is backlit and you can choose from several different colors for the lighting (see attached images). The keyboard is responsive and smart enough that if you start typing before it's reconnected it remembers what you typed and fills it in so you don't miss a beat. You also have the added benefit of a hinged connection, this allows use of the iPad Pro screen at many angles verses the 1 fixed angle you typically get with other keyboards. The sleep/wake function is also built in so your iPad goes to sleep when you close the case and wakes up upon opening. In back facing installation you can use your keyboard as a stand so that you can watch movies or whatever without the keyboard being in sight. You can also fold the iPad down so that it's laying on top of the keyboard but the screen is still accessible for use. You can also easily pop off the iPad Pro and leave the keyboard behind which makes this keyboard/case combo absolutely perfect for my uses. The quality of the build of this case is outstanding. I often take my iPad Pro with me to work, and most of my co-workers are Mac users. They all comment on this case as they wonder why I'm touching the display of my "Mac". It's a real show stopper when they realize it's actually my iPad Pro. The aluminum keyboard is so well built and so similar to my Mac that my brain often sends my hand searching for the non-existant trackpad. Battery life is amazing. It's rated for a year of use on one charge and as I've only had it a month it will be a while before I have to charge it up. I'm glad I waited to buy this keyboard for my iPad Pro. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a keyboard that is substantial and gives the iPad Pro just a little more of a laptop feel while retaining the flexibility an iPad demands.
