Buy This As A Precaution!
READ THIS REVIEW: This product works pretty well, but there are several things you should know, first. 1. Buy this to have on hand before you need it if you live in even a semi-rural area. You don't want to make a midnight run to Wegman's if your dog gets skunked. 2. If your curiously stupid dog gets sprayed, like mine, wipe the affected area off as best you can with something absorbent to remove as much spray as possible before moving on. Old tshirt, a towel you'd never hang in your bathroom if company was coming, whole roll of paper towels, etc. 3. F your dog up with some dawn after you wet him down - the oleophobic nature of dish soap will loosen the spray off the skin and coat since it is oil based. 4. Apply this product liberally at full concentration and let it sit on the area for 5-10 minutes. 5. Rinse dawn and nature's miracle off of dog. 6. Repeat steps 3-5 if your dog still reeks. You can use pet shampoo after the NM is added if you like, as per the bottle's instructions. If your dog has short and fine fur you may only need one or two washes. If it's long and thick or it has a double coat, you'll likely need more. Your dog should be normally smelly at this point. There is a more effective method of applying a mixture of dish soap, baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and water, but if you're not in the mood to play Jr. Chemist, this is your next best option. Lastly, if you're fortunate enough to know where the skunk sprayed your dog, hose the ever loving bejesus out of it into the soil because that SoB will go roll in it the next day. Like mine did.
