I wanted to know the specs on the aquafresh supco filter compared to the GE model. Both filters use the same carbon block technology. Comparing the two specs, out of the 8 categories I could compare, aquafresh was less than <1% better in asbestos, mercury, and carbofuran. Aquafresh and ge tied on lead and lindane. GE was less than 1% better in atrazine, benzine, and chlorine. Supco's NSF certification is pending according to their site listed below. Here are the contaminant percentages for the aquafresh: 99.78% of 1,4 dichlorobenzene 98.32% of 2, 4-D 99.34% of Alachlor 99.3% of Lead 99.92% of Asbestos 99% of Lindane 94.22% of Atrazine 94.7% of Mercury 96.51% of Benzene 99.10% of Turbidity 98.78% of Carbofuran 97.60% of Particulates 97% of chlorine 99.99% of cysts Here are the reference sites that were valid on 10/1/2013: [...] [...] For my money, I'll save the cash and go with the aquafresh replacement.
