I realize that this is designed to be used to as a cattle trough, but I have been using it for a hot tub! I cut a lid out of styrofoam insulation and plywood, and I use an electric element to heat the water (NOT WHILE I AM IN IT). I get it up to 115, and then let it cool to under 110...stays hot enough to enjoy it (dependent on the outside weather) for about 30-40 minutes. There is only one metal edge that I had to round off, but the rest of the tub is smooth and is very comfortable to sit in with hot water. If anyone is looking for a very inexpensive (and hick) way to have an Ofuro type, outdoor hot tub, this is the ticket.
