I was on the hunt for a coffee maker that would satisfy me and the kids as well. For me, I needed the ability to have a single cup or to fill my travel mug...even better, the ability to make a pot for when company comes over. For the children, I wanted to be able to make iced coffees and other specialty drinks. A store rep told me that I wouldn't find such an all in one because espresso is made from a different process than brewing coffee. Well, luckily an internet search turned up this awesome do-it-all very easily machine!! I can make a cup just for me or a pot for the family. I like it strong, and with Rich Brew can have it that way. My bf likes it mild...so Classic Brew for him it is. The Over Ice option allows me to make Iced Coffee drinks that rival the costly coffee shops and I get to use my own coffee, freshly ground. In addition to the coffee maker, which despite the bells and whistles actually makes a tasty cup of joe...the frother is easy to use and whips up a nice frothy topping. It comes with a permanent filter, but I chose to buy #4 size filters to avoid grinds in my sink all of the time. A few extras I received in my package...a 100 recipe book with various drink and snack recipes as well as a hot/cold tumbler. I was looking at other brands, but what bothered me is that even though another major brand is now offering the carafe option, it still doesn't have the ability to fill my 20oz travel mug in one shot. With the half carafe setting on the Coffee Bar, I can do just that. I would highly recommend this product because it does what it is designed to do...make a great cup of coffee. But you also have lots of flexibility with it to accommodate a single person or a small group and to give everyone the specific drink they would like. One site claims the product is made cheaply, but it seems sturdy enough to me and the black and stainless colors are modernly designed and take up little space.
