Works for Phals
I have a green thumb, that is until I started killing orchids my wife brought home. Don't use ice cubes to water them, do give them a LOT of light, and repot them every year or two with pine bark, vermiculite charcoal mix for orchids. I kept a few alive away from a window under compact fluorescent lights, but they just sat there. Now I have moved them to a North facing window with twice the artificial light and they really look good, still blooms were kind of weak until I got this spray fertilizer. I wet the medium and the leaves too. The Moth orchid looks great but still won't flower, but my pinkish lavender phal now blooms at least once a year, and the flowers stay on for months. I soak them once a week in a larger bucket, but never allow them to go bone dry, some orchids need to, but I guess mine don't. Just a little splash during the week now and then keeps them just right in the Summer. During the Winter I only do the immersion watering. Ceiling fan or other is a MUST. There are still a few plants that defy me like Primrose, but spray is the way! Don't spray on blooms however.Still like it, but the sprayer itself is poor mechanically. Now I just get Miracle Grow liquid for african violets and dilute it and use my own spray bottle.
