Works for my needs
Currently is holding 100 ft of 14/3 wire and that is about it's max.
For under $10 it does it's job organizing and holding my extension cord. If you just put the cord in and start rolling you'll drive yourself crazy unrolling the entire thing each time you plan on using it so here's what I've found works best (and doesn't require and drilling and modifications).
Find the half way point of your extension cord (you may want to mark it with a permenant marker in case you ever need to do this again).
Connect the half way point of the cord to the hooks in the reels center.
Roll up your cord so the cord is going into the BOTTOM. If you do it over the top it will tip over, and becomes a pain after about ten feet are wound in.
Doing this has prevented it from tipping over, allows me to use both ends without unrolling all 100 feet of cord, and best of all lets me roll up the cord in half the time since I'm really only dealing with 50 feet when its in half.
