Summary of my review: The ZX-1XL is a great light, but I prefer the ZX-1 since it has very similar brightness to the naked eye, is smaller, uses one less battery, has the option to use AAA batteries instead of the provided lithium ion, and has a black click button. I just received the ZX-1XL in the mail and I like that it has a belt clip and the same functionality as the ZX-1. Both the ZX-1XL and ZX-1 have dim, medium, bright, strobe, and SOS patterns. The Mini-Pro 1 has dim, medium, bright, and strobe. I found the brightness of the ZX-1 and the ZX-1XL to be very similar to the naked eye, but the ZX-1 has a gentler greenish/yellow hue to the light whereas the ZX-1XL has a more pink hue. The ZX-1XL uses two batteries which I honestly don't care for since the ZX-1 only uses one battery (but includes 2) and for similar brightness, I would choose the less bulky option. The ZX-1 also comes with a battery holder to allow you to use 3 AAA batteries instead of the provided lithium ion batteries. The ZX-1XL does not give you that option. The sizes of these lights are as follows: ZX-1XL: 8-7/16" long ZX-1: 5-3/4" long Mini-Pro 1: 3-10/16" long The ZX-1 requires 1 lithium ion battery (includes 2) and comes with a solar powered 3 LED flashlight in the package. The ZX-1XL requires 2 lithium ion batteries (includes 2) and comes with the Mini-Pro 1 which takes a single AA battery that's not included. If trying to decide between the two lights, I suggest the ZX-1. I received this product at a discount for my fair and unbiased review.
