We just installed these so it hasn't been tested for very long (just about an hour while we left to go for a walk) and one of our dogs is an escape artist so if a tiny dog (about ten pounds) would get through it would be her. All dogs were still locked up when we got back! This hate is sturdy, beautiful and very convenient! The opening is a little on the narrow side, but I'm pretty wide hipped and a slight hip tilt and I can get through! Also, the bottom piece you have to step over isn't high at all. It's very easy to adjust to. Especially for the sake of the product! NOTE: while reading the instructions just make note of the top and bottom distinction for the extensions! We mixed them up and wondered why one looked different than the other but my fiancé rarely reads directions so we had a little confusion with that but figured it out lol! But these are so worth it! We used the pressure mount which is more than enough sturdiness! Also, anyone looking to purchase wall savers--save your money! These already have them!
