I have a naughty little papillon who for the past 5 years, has been having "accidents" inside the house. Nothing we have tried in the past has worked. I grew up with dogs and know how to housetrain them. My sheltie doesn't have accidents, but it's like the papillon just doesn't care. In fact, she will have these accidents even when are home. She just won't always tell us when she needs to go out. If I hadn't been raised to believe that a dog is a responsibility that you take on for the life of the dog, I would have gotten rid of her a long time ago. I was at my wits end with her. We have tried everything we could think of, and she looses her mind when she is put in her kennel, cleaning up after the dog had become a routine after getting off of work. Our old house had all hard floors, making accidents easy to clean up, although still frustrating. We recently moved to a house with carpet, and you guessed it, the living room carpet seems to be calling her name. I knew I had to do something before she ruined the carpet. I decided to try these based on their good reviews. It seemed most reviewers were using these for their elderly dog who dribbled, so I was a bit worried that they wouldn't hold all the urine. I was also afraid that she would chew on it. We've had that problem in the past the few times I've tried to put a sweater on her before letting her out in the winter, but I trying these would be a lot cheaper than needing to replace carpeting. The first day she wore the diaper, she walked funny in it at first, but in no time, she began walking normally and it didn't seem to bother her anymore. Upon returning from work, I found that she had both urinated and defecated in the diaper. It held all of the urine and most of the feces, although a few pieces did fall out. When I removed the diaper to let her outside, I could tell she was glad to have it off. When I came home the next day, the diaper was dry. We haven't had another accident in the house since getting these. If you have a stubborn dog like mine, I highly recommend that you try these. They have been a life-saver for me. I'm actually starting to like the dog again!
