Works great (with a simple modification)
I originally posted a negative review because the design allows the largest squirrels to hang by their back feet from the center support so their weight tilts the baffle and brings their front feet within range to get a grip on the feeder's hanging hoop and they can lower themselves to feast. It's a tricky maneuver that takes them a couple of falls, but squirrels are persistent and learn fast. This would not have been an issue if the feeder wasn't hanging from an easily climbable tree, but it's an otherwise good location. Since then, I found an easy solution that the manufacturer might want to consider including with the feeder.
Simply hang the feeder from the baffle with six inches of small galvanized chain. It puts the feeder just out of the reach of even the largest squirrels and they fall off straining to reach it. They kept trying for a while, but now they just look for seeds on the ground. They sometimes sit and stare up at the feeder like they're trying to figure it out, but then go back to foraging on the ground.
The baffle does a great job protecting the feeder from the weather, and has not blown down in even the strongest storm we've had this winter. It also looks good and any bird droppings wash off with a little rain. With a simple modification, it's works great.
