Bought this for my son when he was just 5 1/2 months old. He's now 9 months and this is his main way of going number 2! It's the perfect size where it's not too big for him. The only thing is it doesn't have a back to it so it's challenging holding him on it when he wasn't able to well support himself, but it's not a deal breaker for me. The pee guard has worked fine for us. Only had maybe one instance where it didn't block it, mainly because he was trying to stand up. Easy to dump and clean as well. Highly recommend this product! Update: my son is now over 2 and now that we are getting serious about potty training he's still using this and I think it helped having it earlier on since he was used to it! Not too small for him yet. It allows him to sit in proper position for better ease in a "squat" position. Still happy with this purchase :)
