I love this carpet cleaner! I've used a Rug Doctor in the past, but it was heavy and couldn't get right to the edge of my carpets. This Hoover is lightweight and gets right up against the wall and furniture. I chose to test it in a room where my dogs rarely go, and it STILL pulled up all the dirt pictured. It did a great job in my hallway and stair landing. Do yourself a favor and order the value sized Paws and Claws solution; you won't be returning this cleaner! The sample bottle included was enough to get me started where I needed it most, but if you need to do a whole house right when you receive this, you'll need more solution. It's also easy to take apart to clean: the rollers and suction area remove for easy maintenance. I can't say enough positive things about this cleaner!
