I have another immersion blender at home, and it's a more expensive brand, which is why I was surprised when this little guy turned out to be almost as powerful. I'm not about to use it to make smoothies, or crush ice, or anything that's heavy duty. I have a blender for that. Instead, this is perfect for making emulsions, dressings, sauces, and pureeing soup while the soup is still in its own pot.
