This lid is so good that it's annoying. See, I had an older Simple/Modern bottle and lid. I thought it was so much better than an off-brand lid that looked good because of a handy handle but was like a sucking workout to get water out of the straw. So, I bought a new S/M lid, which I had resisted because the lid costs $10 and the whole bottle and lid costs maybe $15. True the engineering is in the lid. Anyway, the new lid is way better than the S/M lid I thought was wonderful. The new opening is wider and to say it sucks marvelously is maybe an oxymoron but is true. The annoying part is, now I have to think about getting another new improved S/M lid for my second bottle, where yesterday I was perfectly happy with my S/M lid, now I don't know how long I can stand it. We will see. I can't imagine they will improve on this one, but who knows. I'm a slow buyer, so this story may go on and on. I'll wait a couple years, remember I was going to replace the old good but not marvelous lid, replace it at last and find out S/M engineers have struck again and somehow made the lid even better. Please stop improving things. This new lid is plenty good enough! (Ok, go ahead if your engineers need jobs, I can keep buying lids forever, I guess.)
