I have 5 kids, 4 of them are boys. Cereal is a separate food group for school aged boys. Unfortunately, my boys couldn't figure out how to shove the cereal bag down in the box and actually close the cardboard box that cereal comes in. Then a different boy would search the pantry for his favorite cereal, most likely in a rush to eat it so another brother couldn't eat that one. I'm assuming it was a rush since there would be cereal box and other pantry debris all over the floor. I was sick of the mess. Sick of wasted food spilled all over the floor, and sick of my pantry looking like the Red cross needed to send a team to help us recover from some type of starving boy disaster. In desperation I ordered these containers. I've been a mom for a long time now, I've had cereal containers before. They smelled like plastic and all the cereal tasted like plastic. They got tossed in the recycle bin. It's time to try again. No plastic smell! They were air tight so the cereal stays fresh (in all fairness, it's only in there maybe 3 days but then we just dump in a new box...or now the big cheaper bags. So far, these have survived crashing from the pantry shelf to the floor without the lid popping off. I'm actually looking into buying more and other containers (hung don't even want to know about our chip bag problems!). I would recommend these for sure.
