I'm not even sure how long it would have taken to dry my thick medium-long hair with my old drugstore dryer. It always took so long that my arm would get tired and I'd give up after about 15 min (when I even tried, basic b***** here). I purchased this after using a similar one at a friend's that dried completely in about 5 minutes. With this dryer, I got almost complete dryness in TWO MINUTES. Granted, I didn't use a styling tip and didn't brush it out. Continued usage with one of the styling accessories and while combing it out takes about 5 min. It is quieter, lighter, smaller, and has a better feel than my drugstore one. I cannot recommend highly enough.
