This system is great for ages 5-95. Simple game play allows kids to play however they like. You have team based (red vs blue) or free for all. You can also play on mixed mode which comes in handy for small players. They can be on the same team as another sibling but everyone else is free for all. The gun does ping constantly which is slightly annoying but also makes the game play fast because you can't just camp out in a closet. ;) You get 8 lives and 10 shots between reloads. Another person said you need head phones. This is not true. The headphones are optional. Without them the voice just comes through the speaker in the gun. The headphones also play dramatic music. These take 3 aaa batteries each. We have played probably 5 hours so far and we are still on the first 3 batteries. Overall we are very satisfied with these.
