Some Pros and Cons to this crib
I haven't used this crib for the baby yet as he's not due for another few months, so my review is strictly from the way it looks and my observations so far. I listed a few pros and cons that I noticed within the first few days of having it. Pros: - Looks really nice. Very sharp design. Will look really nice as a full sized bed when the time comes. - The attached changing table saves ALOT of room. - The bottom drawer is a nice add-on. It provides extra storage for sheets and whatever else you can fit. - The crib itself only stands 34" off of the ground. I measured from the floor to the top of the front railing (the back is obviously higher). For some reason it looked alot taller in the pictures. The reason I have this as a pro is because I'm only 5' 2" and it makes it a lot easier for me to reach in to grab the baby. It may be more of a con for taller people who have to bend down. Cons: - The changing table part is NOT a standard size changing table (see attached image). It's close to 5 inches smaller. I specifically asked the manufacturer this question and they told me it was a standard size. It is not. The reason I don't like this is because I wanted to purchase a curved changing pad to use instead of their flat 1" pad. Don't even bother. It won't fit. I can't seem to find any smaller changing pad covers. Let's hope the standard size changing pad covers aren't too big. They have elastic at the bottom, so I'm hoping it's still tight around the pad. - The bottom drawer, although it's nice to have for extra storage, only comes out about 6 inches. See attached image. I can only really see using it for extra sheets. I would say it's too small to even fit a blanket. - The front railing bows out at the bottom. I tried to post a picture of this as well. I guess there will always be a bit of a bow when it comes to wood so I'm not sure if you would consider this a "con" really. I just hope it holds up when the baby gets old enough to stand and pull on it and what-not. - There are no covers for the any of the screws. You can see all of the bits where it was put together. Makes it look a bit cheapy in my opinion. But then again, plastic covers for the screws would probably be a choking hazard for babies. They could've at least hid where the screws are to make it look a bit nicer. Overall I like the crib and I would recommend purchasing it. I just wanted to make sure I provided both Pros and Cons so other consumers can make an informed decision on whether or not they would like to purchase. If I think or find anything else I will amend this review to include.
