I love almost everything about this doorbell kit. Living in a bi-level row home without a doorbell sucked. Either I wouldn’t hear the knocks at the door when I was upstairs or I would mistake knocks at the neighbor’s doors as knocks on my door. This little doohickey solved that problem perfectly. Setup was a breeze. I just peeled away the protective tape off the battery in the transmitter, plugged in the two receivers, pressed the pairing button, and they went chiming away. What I love about the system: (1) it doesn’t look as plastic or fake as some other options; (2) you can select a more calming melody if you’re not into the standard doorbell chime; (3) you can adjust the volume from loud, to low, to silent; and (4) the receiver has a flashing light notification—this is perfect if you have a family member who is deaf, if you want to place one in a nursery, or if you don’t want to disturb other family members at night. What I didn’t like about the system: the transmitter (doorbell part) is not lighted. So, if you plan to place this in a dark area near your door, it would not be noticeable. However, if you are going to place this at your front door, I recommend putting it under or near a light. I got the black/blue version and the blue looks fluorescent, even at night. Definitely a great buy.
