CPU Cooling - Had issues upon arrive, 1 day troubleshooting figured it out
I've had it 2 days now and the unit was unbearably loud. Even with no load at my home screen in windows it was full throttle fan. I updated the bios, software, windows, everything. Shut off as many apps, uninstalled anything not vital. Still could not get it it's unbearably loud at idle (CPU FAN, Liquid cooling unit). I have open ear headphones when gaming and it's still incredibly distracting. The problem ended up being the liquid cooling CPU Fan. It has two liquid lines and one of them was kinked heavily restricting flow. So my idle temp was 90-96c. It's about as loud as my window unit AC.
I'm attaching two pictures that show the before and after. Unfortunately I didnt get the best "Before" it was more of a quick photo I took when it arrived. But I had to manually move the line to create a curve and then try to massage out the kink, its 90%+ fixed and now the idle temp is down from 95c to 50-55c. Quite. You can also in the OMEN center adjust the fan Quiet, Normal, Turbo, that boosts the fan speed, right now I'm using quiet when possible even when gaming since I'm getting very high frame rates.
