My daughter has always wanted to have a "real picnic". You know, the kind with a basket packed with lemonade, sandwiches, cake, fruit salad and pasta salad, all to be enjoyed while relaxing on a red&white checkered sheet under the shade of a big tree at the park, on a perfect breezy day with blue skies & puffy white clouds. I decided to surprise her with a picnic for her birthday, just the way she described it. It wouldn't have been a real picnic without a real picnic basket! This basket is beautiful! It's very sturdy and roomy. The cloth lining can be easily removed and washed. The lids open toward the center and are secured with adjustable leather & Velcro straps. Everything in this photo fit into the basket, along with a few other items. I was hesitant to spend so much money on a basket that I'll probably never use again, but it was totally worth it, to give my daughter the "real picnic" she's always wanted.
