Use with extreme respect
Yes it's an excellent tool, it certainly cuts and carves thru wood like butter, but...
Because it is so incredibly easy to use, it gives a false sense of security, a false sense of, "I've got this under control," until...
I was using it to shape flooring around door jars.
I started off securing the hard substrate flooring piece I was cutting into a vice.
That was fine, until I couldn't get the tool into the area I needed.
Most of you know what I mean.
So I held the plank instead.
Hey, worked great for me.
And I was flying through laying down the flooring.
Then my work college asked to use it.
I let him, but with extreme caution.
I was actually hesitant to let him, he was the fast slap kinda guy.
Right away he loved it, then started mocking me at how I kept the cool tools to myself, etc.
Then it happened.
He wasn't using a vice to hold the wood, instead he hand held it, and the angle grinder bit into the wood a little too hard.
He kept his arm, just.
But he never completed that job.
This is a serious review, perhaps too graphic to be accepted, but if it saves you from taking your arm off due to overconfidence, then it's worth writing.
I believe if it hadn't happened to him, it would have happened to me eventually.
ALWAYS SECURE WHAT YOU'RE CUTTING AND USE 2 HANDS ON THE ANGLE GRINDER. EVEN THO IT FEELS LIKE BUTTER, BECAUSE IT DOES sometimes BITE.
Overall, excellent tool. Use with extreme respect.
