Glad I went with this case
UPDATE (November 13th, 2015): I still use and love this case. The leather is still soft, albeit a little scratched and a few worn spots. Only minor cosmetic wear and tear. I use this daily, and has been living on my couch since purchased. I have two dogs so you can imagine couch living with dogs. I am going to list what this case has been though: Hot pizza boxes, ricocheting 10 lb. dogs, drops to the floor, spilled on, condensating 2 liters of pop, and scratches. The stitching throughout has not moved, shifted, or loosened. The zippers and the zipper snaps are still in perfect condition; the zippers themselves are a little worn. Just a little though. My Pigma Microns, Jelly Roll, and pencil still fit perfectly and hasn't stretched out, plus I have 2 Microns per loop. I have the entire collection of Pigma Micron pens, Sakura 50050 59-Piece Pigma Ink Artist's Gift Set To be honest, I didn't know how much abuse that this case could take since the leather was so soft and so nice to the touch. I am pleasantly surprised at how much abuse this case has put up with. Original Review from April 9th 2014: I asked questions to the owners on of many pencil cases here on Amazon about how well Pigma Microns fit in the case. Pretty much every pencil case fits Pigma Micron pens. This case comfortably fits 64 of my writing utensils (mostly Microns), and I try to leave one loop between each size tip for quicker selection. I really like that I can set this case up vertically, and stabley. This case is really nice. Kinda like 4 star hotel nice. The outside of the case is very soft, which was kinda a concern for me because I have two small dogs and I do my drawing and "art-ing" (that's right, I made it a verb) out in the living room; the case is normally on the couch. I've had this case on my couch for about 3 weeks now, and so far, so good. There are some little scratch marks on it but there really aren't any hardcore blemishes from it. The stitching is high quality, as are the zippers. The inside of the case is also very soft and reflects the high quality seen on the outside of the case. I make my own notebooks, and my roughly 5.5" x 7" notebook with a 1 inch diameter binding coil with 40-50 pieces of 300 series smooth Bristol paper fits great in one side if there are no utensils in it. This case is really well made. I wouldn't really consider taking this out with me unless I'm going somewhere to DO drawing for two reasons. One: Afraid of all of the random crap that could happen to the smooth leather, and Two: it's on the big side. I carry a huge purse that my husband has nicknamed "the Tardis" (which I can now justify since I live in the Bay area, where re-usable bags are a necessity unless you want to pay 10 cents per paper bag) and this case wouldn't be easy to carry both weight wise and size wise. Pro Tip: - There isn't a special place for a pencil sharpener, so I have a small jewelry bag that I put the sharpener in (so the pencil sharpener debris doesn't infect everything it touches) and I place it where an unoccupied loop is and just shut the case. Same for my eraser. Caution while opening the case. -Keep drinks and other wet things away from the case. It will most likely stain. I spill things constantly, so that is why I keep it on my couch -Waterbrushes will not fit - Gelly Roll pens can fit 2 per loop - The loops do loosen up over time -The graphite from the pencils will mark up the inside of the case where the pencils are.
